asked the Minister for Justice (a) the number of convictions for murder and (b) the number of executions in the State since 1940.

Since 1940, 30 persons have been convicted of murder; ten of them were executed.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state in respect of each year from 1925 to 1962 inclusive the number of persons (a) charged with murder, (b) convicted of murder, and (c) executed for murder.
