Vol. 205 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Templemore (Tipperary) Subpostmaster.

30.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will take immediate steps to have a subpostmaster appointed at Templemore, County Tipperary, now that the closing date for applications has passed, and thus ensure that the residents of Templemore will be no longer inconvenienced.

The interviewing of applicants for the subpostmaster vacancy at Templemore is in progress at present and there will be no avoidable delay in completing the necessary inquiries.

Can the Minister say when he expects an appointment to be made?

When the interviews are over, the post will then go to the Subpostmasters Appointment Board of the Department. When they report to me, I make the appointment as soon as possible, if they recommend a suitable applicant or applicants.

If he is a member of the right Party.
