asked the Minister for Finance the number of licences "revived" under section 2 of the Licensing (Ireland) Act, 1902 from the passing of the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1960 to 4th July, 1962.

The number of licences so "revived" during the period specified was 311.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of new licences for rural areas granted under Section 13 of the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1960.

Eighty-nine such licences have been granted.

asked the Minister for Finance how many hotel licences have been granted in every year since 1st January, 1946.

The relevant records are being examined with a view to compiling the particulars requested as far as they may be available. If the Deputy repeats the question in a week's time, I expect then to be in a position to furnish this information.

asked the Minister for Finance how many full seven-day licences have been granted in lieu of six-day licences under Section 27 of the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1960, as amended, since 4th July, 1960.

The answer is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

Notes: (i) The term restricted licences includes six day licences, early closing licences, six day and early closing licences, and beerhouse licences.

(ii) It is not possible to sub-divide this figure as between six day licences and other restricted licences.

12.

asked the Minister for Finance how many sevenday licences were granted by the Revenue Commissioners upon payment of £200; and the total amount paid into the Restricted Licences Conversion Fund.

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

Number of licences granted, 725. Total amount paid into the Restricted Licences Conversion Fund, £145,000.
