Vol. 205 No. 10

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Electricity Supplies.

19.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if a tie line will be erected between Kilgarvan and Glenflesk electricity stations, County Kerry to enable up to 200 people in the Incheese — Morley's Bridge — Loo Bridge areas and in the adjacent townlands to avail themselves of the electricity facilities for lighting, etc.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that their programme does not provide for the construction of a tie-line between Kilgarvan and Glenflesk.

As I stated in reply to the Deputy on 12th March, 1963, supply can be made available to the Incheese and Morley's Bridge — Loo Bridge areas if requested, but, because of their remoteness from the nearest point of supply, the householders concerned would have to pay high special service charges.

The Board re-examines the position of such areas from time to time and, in fact, the Incheese area is at present being canvassed.
