Vol. 205 No. 11

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Cross-Channel Telephone Calls.

18.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider requesting the Northern Ireland post office authorities to cooperate with his Department in relation to cross-Channel telephone calls from County Donegal, in view of the unsatisfactory service experienced at present.

Presumably the Deputy has in mind that an arrangement might be made to route the calls in question through Belfast instead of through Dublin as at present. This raises a number of difficult operational problems the solution of which would involve the British Post Office, but I shall have it re-examined in relation to the present situation.
