Vol. 205 No. 12

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda and Army Pensioners.

30.

asked the Minister for Finance what increases will be granted to ex-Army and ex-Garda pensioners under the pensions increases in the Budget; and when payment will be made.

Pensions calculated as a percentage of pay are being recalculated on the higher salaries which came into effect on 15 December, 1959, for the Defence Forces and on 1st March, 1960, for the Garda Síochána. Corresponding increases have been fixed for flat-rate pensions, resulting in a percentage increase of 5 per cent, or more in certain cases. Arrangements are being made for payment of the increases at the end of this month.
