61.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of companies which have gone into liquidation in the past five years, and which had obtained loans from the Industrial Credit Company or loans or grants from other public funds; and if he will state the total amount of such loans and grants given to such companies.

The records in the Companies Registration Office of companies which have gone into liquidation in the past five years include three such companies which had received State assistance by way of loans from the Industrial Credit Company Limited or in fulfilment of trade loan guarantees or by grants from An Foras Tionscal. The total amount of such loans and grants was £75,000.
