For improvements at Purteen Harbour the State grant sanctioned in 1953 was £19,500 or 75 per cent of the expenditure, whichever was the lesser, and 75 per cent of the actual cost proved to be the lesser by £5,382. As substantial improvements were completed as recently as 1955 at a cost of £18,824, further improvements are not proposed at this stage.
