Vol. 205 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Army Beef Supplies.

58.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Defence the mode of appointing the agent of his Department who purchases cattle for the supply of beef for the Dublin and Curragh areas; and the manner in which he is remunerated.

Under the arrangement whereby cattle for the supply of meat for Dublin Barracks and Campa an Churraigh are purchased by an agent, which arrangement has been in existence since 1922, the agent is appointed by An tAire and is remunerated on the basis of a fixed commission per head of cattle supplied.
