Vol. 206 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Products Sales Promotion.

29.

andMr. Donegan asked the Minister for External Affairs the number of embassies and ministries abroad in which there are officers charged with the responsibility of dealing with the sale of agricultural products and of serving the interests of the agricultural community.

All our Missions abroad are charged with responsibility for giving the maximum assistance to the promotion of exports, agricultural and industrial, and for furthering to the greatest extent possible the economic interests of the country.

The Taoiseach does not say in which Department officers charged with that specific responsibility are staffed. Is there an agricultural attaché in all these embassies?

Is there a trade attaché?

There is an official, whether he is called an agricultural attaché, a trade attaché or a first, second or third secretary, who is charged with special responsibility for trade matters.
