Vol. 206 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Clonakilty (Cork) Barytes Mine.

12.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will expedite a grant for Ladyswell barytes mine, Clonakilty, County Cork; and whether, in view of the fact that local interests have supplied so much capital, he will ensure that the grant is generous.

A technical assistance grant was made to the company in the year 1961 to enable it to explore and develop the local barytes deposits. The company made tentative proposals some time ago for a further technical assistance grant, but the matter has not been followed up by the company.
