Vol. 206 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Charlestown (Mayo) Technical School.

48.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the delay in providing a technical school at Charlestown, County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not aware of any undue delay on the part of my Department in dealing with the proposal to provide a vocational school at Charlestown, County Mayo. The working drawings and specifications for the project were approved by my Department on 17th June, 1963, and in the letter of approval the County Mayo Vocational Education Committee was asked, before advertising for tenders, to submit the contract documents for the Department's consideration. These were received on the 15th of this month, and a letter is issuing to the committee today approving of the documents, subject to some small amendments.
