Vol. 206 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Damage to Dublin Property.

63.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice whether complaints have been made to the Garda Síochána regarding the considerable damage already caused to adjoining property, and the continuing danger to life and limb, created by the condition of the Nine Arches Bridge on the former Harcourt Street/Bray railway line, having regard to the fact that it is frequently used by persons to throw stones from the top of the bridge; and if he will state what action the Garda Síochána have taken, or intend to take, in the matter.

Some complaints of stone-throwing from this bridge have been made. CIE have now built high walls on either side of the bridge with metal stakes on the top to which barbed wire is being attached. The Garda Síochána believe that this will effectively prevent all access by trespassers and put an end to the source of complaint.

Why not set the dogs on them?
