asked the Minister for Finance (a) the amount of Employment and Emergency Schemes Vote grant allocated to Bandon, Kinsale and Passage West, County Cork, this year; (b) the date on which schemes for this grant were received by his Department; (c) the date on which they were sanctioned; and (d) what is the present position.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

(d) Present Position:

Schemes have been sanctioned to absorb the full allocation for Bandon and Passage West. Two schemes to absorb the full allocation for Kinsale have been under consideration in the Department of Local Government. One, estimated to cost £100, has been rejected by the Department and the Urban District Council has been asked to submit an alternative. The other, estimated to cost £525, is at present with the Department's engineer for inspection and report.
