Vol. 206 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drainage of County Wexford River.

12.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will consult the Wexford County Council with regard to the desirability of introducing a scheme of drainage for the Assaly River, Killinick, and the implementation of such a scheme.

The Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, provides in relation to the formal exhibition of a drainage scheme for the furnishing by the county councils concerned of their observations on the scheme. That stage has not yet been reached in the case of the Assaly river but in response to a recent letter from the Wexford County Council the Commissioners of Public Works are now writing to them to obtain their views on the proposal which is under consideration.
