Vol. 206 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Non-Payment of Social Welfare Contributions.

4.

asked the Taoiseach if he will ensure that the local State solicitor will enforce the court decrees given in September 1962 against a building contractor (particulars supplied) as a result of proceedings involving the non-payment of social welfare contributions; and if he will state the reasons for the delay in the enforcement of the decrees.

The local State Solicitor has been asked to enforce forthwith the court decrees in question. The main reasons given by him for the delay in enforcement were pressure of work and the destruction, by flood, of papers in his office.

In view of the many requests by the Department of Social Welfare to the person concerned, is the Taoiseach now saying that flooding will not be used as an excuse for holding up this just case any longer?

Yes. I understand action is being taken in the matter.

About time.
