I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to take Questions Nos 63 and 64 together. The methods of estimation adopted in compiling the distribution of farm wages and salaries in 1960 as given in the reply to Question No. 83 of 10 April, 1962, and as given in column 11 on page 13 of the publication Irish County Incomes in 1960 were somewhat different, but the results obtained were virtually the same. I do not intend to ask the Central Statistics Office to revise the estimates published in Irish County Incomes in 1960. The estimated distribution of employee income by counties in 1961, based on the methods used in compiling the figures for Question No. 83 of 10 April, 1962, is shown in the following table where the figures quoted do not include the employers' contribution to social insurance. Since the total of employee remuneration in 1960 was practically the same as in 1961 it is not considered necessary to repeat the calculation for 1960. It would not be appropriate to use the data on pages 30-33 of Pr. 7415 in the estimation, since the figures in that document include persons out of work on Census date. The appropriate measure of the relative remuneration per head of agricultural employees is the relevant average minimum rate of agricultural wages in the different counties.
