asked the Taoiseach the density of population per 1,000 acres of arable land in each of the following counties: Mayo, Galway, Donegal, Roscommon, Westmeath, Meath, Kildare, Offaly and Tipperary.

With your permission, Sir, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a tabular statement showing for the specified counties the density per 1,000 acres of crops and pasture in 1961 of (a) the total population and (b) the population living outside towns or villages of 20 or more occupied houses.

Following is the statement:

DENSITY of population per 1,000 acres of crops and pasture in Counties Mayo, Galway, Donegal, Roscommon, Westmeath, Meath, Kildare, Offaly and Tipperary.
