Departments are being consulted regarding the recommendations of Coimisiún um Athbheochan na Gaeilge. Until their replies have been collated and digested the preparation of a White Paper must necessarily be deferred.
The question of debate in Government time can be considered when the White Paper has issued.
I did not catch the first part of the Minister's reply but has he any idea at all when the White Paper may be issued? Will it be a matter of months or years?

I would say within 12 months. I think we are prepared to give the Departments three months within which to reply and then collate the information and prepare the White Paper. I would say it should appear in the autumn.
