Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Port Memorial.

30.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he can help to solve the legal difficulties between Dublin Corporation and Dublin Port and Docks Board to enable the Port Workers Memorial Committee to proceed with the proposal to erect a memorial to Our Lady.

I understand from Dublin Corporation that there are no legal difficulties between themselves and Dublin Port and Docks Board in relation to a proposal by the Port Workers Memorial Committee to erect a memorial to Our Lady. I am informed that the Committee, through their solicitors, are at present negotiating for the acquisition of a site for the memorial from Dublin Corporation. I am further informed that the question of public access to the site being sought is the subject of correspondence between the committee's solicitors and Dublin Corporation.
