Vol. 208 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers - Crumlin (Dublin) Road.

44.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to re-surface the Long Mile Road at Crumlin; and whether this will be a dual carriageway.

Work will start on the improvement scheme for Long Mile Road at Crumlin; when all the necessary lands have been acquired. The scheme provides for a dual carriageway.

Can the Minister give any indication?

I am afraid I cannot.

Mr. Ryan

Can the Minister say if Dublin Corporation have yet submitted the second draft compulsory purchase order in connection with the lands?

I am afraid again I cannot. There will have to be a further question.

Mr. Ryan

I have tried this before and I am endeavouring once again to persuade the Minister, in turn to persuade the Dublin Corporation, to proceed at least with that portion of the scheme that can be proceeded with, pending acquisition by compulsory purchase order of the few bits of land that are left, in view of the very dangerous position from the point of view of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The Corporation are aware of my anxiety to get on with this and similar work.
