Vol. 208 No. 7

Written Answers. - Land Registration.

100.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state as at the latest available date in respect of land registered under the Registration of Title Acts the number of current folios in each (a) county, excluding urban areas, (b) borough, and (c) urban area, and the estimated number of holdings which are not registered in (a), (b) and (c) respectively.

The Land Registry records do not enable information to be supplied, without undue expenditure of time, as to the number of current folios or as to whether folios relate to either county areas or borough areas or urban areas.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement of the information available in the Land Registry as to the numbers of folios.

I have no information which would enable me to formulate an estimate of the number of unregistered holdings.

Following is the statement:—

TOTAL number of folios opened in each county (including county boroughs, boroughs and urban areas) up to the 4th April, 1964.*

*All of the above Folios are not now current: a number have been closed for various reasons, chiefly because of registered holdings being consolidated with other registered holdings. Some Folios relate to more than one holding.
