asked the Minister for Finance the amount by which the public debt increased in 1963-64; and if he will give for such year the additional information given in the terms of the reply to Question No. 11 of 16th July, 1963.

Following is the information requested:

1963-64

(1) Amount by which the public debt increased

(2) (a) Percentage by which the public debt increased.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the financial year 1963-64 the net amount by which the service of debt exceeded the amount received by the Exchequer for interest and sinking fund payments to it, and the amount of the increase of such figure over the proceeding year.

For the financial year 1963-64 the net amount by which the service of debt exceeded the amount received by the Exchequer for interest and sinking fund payments to it was £25.81 million, and the amount by which this figure exceeded the corresponding figure for the preceding year was £3.19 million.
