Vol. 208 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delay in Delivery of Postal Packet.

79.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why a postal package posted in Dublin on the 19th March, 1964, was not received at an address (details supplied) in Foxrock, County Dublin until 6th April, 1964.

The package in question was one of a particular bulk posting of over 50,000 items about which I have received no other complaint of delay in delivery. When my inquiries are completed, I shall communicate with the Deputy.

Mr. Ryan

I am grateful to the Minister for his inquiries but is the Minister aware that the postal services in this area are so bad that a number of postcards posted by one of the parochial clergy to members of the women's sodality, to remind them to attend, were, in fact, delivered about four or five days after the sodality meeting in question, although they were posted a week beforehand?

That is not the question.

That has nothing to do with the question.

Mr. Ryan

It may assist the Minister in his inquiries to know where the trouble apparently lies.

If the Deputy supplies precise particulars, we may be able to establish the cause.
