Vol. 208 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Capacity of Dublin Telephone Exchange.

80.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why Dublin subscribers calling Dublin numbers on the 97 exchange on the afternoon of 26th March last received the engaged tone on dialling the first four digits; and if he will state the capacity of the exchange in question.

As the calls in question are worked automatically, it is not possible without further details to say how difficulties of the sort described could have arisen.

The capacity of the exchange in question is 7,000 lines.
