25.

26.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will have the areas of Knockbrack, Knittery, Bottlehill and Barrack, Burnfort, Mallow, County Cork examined by the Land Commission with a view to having these areas declared congested areas.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 18, 19, 20, 25 and 26 together.

Pending the enactment of the Land Bill and its progressive application within the traditional congested areas, as scheduled in the Bill, I consider that it would be premature to declare additional congested areas.

The Deputy's representations have been noted for consideration at the earliest appropriate time.

Will the Minister say if the first action of the Minister under the new Land Bill will be to declare new congested areas and, if so, is it advisable for Deputies to have application made at an early date to have areas included?

The Minister did not say any such thing nor is it the Minister's intention to give any advice that would possibly be resented by Deputies.

It will be a while before you declare any new ones.
