Vol. 208 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sallynoggin (Dublin) Technical School.

31.

andMr. S. Dunne asked the Minister for Education what are the reasons for the delay in starting the building of the technical school at Sallynoggin, County Dublin; and at what date he expects building of this school to be (a) started and (b) completed.

The preliminary planning associated with a school such as is proposed in Sallynoggin must of necessity take a considerable period to complete. I am satisfied that as far as my Department is concerned there has been no avoidable delay in dealing with the matter. The stage has now been reached when the revised sketch plans for the building have been sanctioned. The lay-out plans and working drawings must be completed before tenders can be sought. I am not, therefore, at present in a position to state when building operations will begin.
