asked the Minister for Local Government (1) the amount collected in road tax by (a) Dublin Corporation and (b) Dublin County Council in each of the last ten years, (2) the amount of road grants allocated in each year to these authorities over the same period, and the total amount of (1) and the total amount of (2).

The information is in the form of a tabular statement which with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

1. Dublin City and County, including the Borough of Dún Laoghaire, are served jointly by a single motor taxation office. Separate figures are not available in respect of road tax receipts for each of these areas.

2. An error noted in the 1962-63 figure for road tax receipts given in a recent reply has been corrected in the above table.
