Vol. 209 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Santry (Dublin) Cottages.

14.

asked the Minister for Local Government (a) the number of cottages planned by Dublin County Council for the Santry area, (b) the result of the recent sworn inquiry in the matter of land acquisition for housing in this area, (c) the location of building sites, and (d) the probable dates of commencement and completion of cottage building.

The only housing proposal of Dublin County Council for the Santry area of which I am aware, relates to land affected by a compulsory purchase order which I confirmed on 16th April. It was stated in evidence at the inquiry that the site would accommodate 40 houses, the provision of 26 of which could be undertaken immediately the acquisition of the land had been effected. I cannot indicate when building work will commence and finish.
