Vol. 209 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Report of the Itinerancy Commission.

14.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether consideration of the Report of the Itinerancy Commission has been completed; whether proposals in relation to the matter will be put forward before the summer recess; and whether he proposes to introduce legislation to provide for the establishment of temporary caravan sites, and if so, when.

Consideration of the Report of the Commission on Itinerancy is not yet completed and it is not expected that proposals will be put forward before the summer recess. The Commission's recommendation as to caravan sites is being considered in conjunction with the other recommendations of the Commission, but the question of the introduction of legislation will not yet arise until final decisions on policy have been reached.
