Vol. 209 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parking Meters.

13.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether details of the car parking meter system have been finalised; where the meters will be situated in Dublin city; what the standard fee will be; and for how long a person may park for payment of this fee.

Before parking meters may be introduced in Dublin City, it will be necessary for the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, after consultation with the Dublin Corporation and with my consent, to amend the existing Dublin Parking Bye-Laws. The amended Bye-laws would specify the parking places which are to be meter controlled. The fees to be charged and the parking periods to be allowed are matters to be regulated by rules to be made by the Corporation with my approval.
