(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of Tipperary (South Riding) the expenditure on (a) the upkeep, and (b) the improvement of roads for the past seven years ended March, 1964; and if he will give (c) the amount allocated from local funds, and (d) the amount allocated from State grants in respect of (1) main roads, (2) county roads, and (3) other roads.

Details of expenditure for the year ended 31st March, 1964, are not yet available. The information requested in respect of the years 1957-58—1962-63 is in the form of a tabular statement, which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of Tipperary (South Riding) the total road mileage under the headings (1) main roads, (2) county roads, and (3) urban roads.

The mileage of public roads in Tipperary South Riding at 31st March, 1963, the latest date for which figures are available, was (i) main roads, 349.8 miles; (ii) county roads, 1,250.7 miles; and (iii) urban roads, 32.4 miles.
