Vol. 210 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Amendment of Housing Acts.

9.

asked the Minister for Local Government if there are any proposals under consideration to amend the Housing Acts whereby persons in need of housing accommodation, who are not eligible for consideration by local authorities under existing regulations and who do not qualify under the Small Dwellings Acts, can be assisted towards providing their own homes.

The Housing Bill at present under consideration will be comprehensive in scope and will remove various legal obstacles in the way of participation in the benefits of the Housing Acts. It is not possible to give a more specific reply in advance of the introduction and circulation of the Bill.
