Vol. 210 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Registry Delays.

54.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that members of the legal profession are dissatisfied with the long delays encountered in their dealings with the Land Registry; if such delays are due to shortage of staff; and, if so, whether he is ready to make the necessary arrangements for adequate staff.

Complaints regarding delays in the Land Registry have been brought to my notice. This arises from the difficulty, despite substantial overtime, in keeping the staff position abreast of the continually expanding volume of business.

The improvement of the staffing position is having my active attention.
