Vol. 210 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Transport Fleet.

55.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Justice the total number of cars in the Garda transport fleet, including the cars of Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries and the Attorney General; the number of such cars fitted with safety belts for drivers and passengers; and the extent to which the belts so fitted are used.

There are 242 cars in the fleet. The front passenger seats of 23 of the cars are fitted with safety belts. There is no driver's seat fitted with such belts. It is not possible to say the extent to which the belts are used.
