Vol. 211 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin School Extensions.

24.

asked the Minister for Education the estimated costs of extensions to (a) St. Patrick's Training College, Drumcondra, Dublin, and (b) Rathmines Technical School and College of Commerce, Dublin.

Major reconstruction as well as extension was required in St. Patrick's Training College, Drumcondra. It would not be possible to separate the estimated costs as between reconstruction and extension. The total estimated cost of the reconstruction and extension is £1¼ million approximately.

There are no proposals before my Department for an extension to Rathmines College of Commerce.

25.

asked the Minister for Education the cost of extensions to (a) Bolton Street Technical School, Dublin, and (b) Kevin Street School of Technology, Dublin, and the amounts of the State grant.

Final figures of cost for these two projects are not yet available. The most recent estimate for the extension to Bolton St. College of Technology is £500,000 and for Kevin St. College, which is not an extension but a new building, £1,500,000.

No capital grants were made from State funds for these building projects.
