Vol. 211 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - State Foresters: Salary Dispute.

22.

asked the Minister for Lands if he has received a request for conciliation on a salary dispute from State foresters; and, if so, the date of receipt of the request; and when it will be heard.

A claim for improved salary scales for State foresters was lodged by the State Foresters Branch of the Institute of Professional Civil Servants on 1st January, 1964, and it is hoped to open discussions on the claim at an early date.

Was no application for conciliation received before 1st January last?

No, as far as my information goes.

Would the Minister endeavour to expedite a decision in this matter?

I understand that under the existing machinery these discussions will take place at an early date, that is, in the next few weeks probably.
