Vol. 211 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Terenure Public Conveniences.

29.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the long delay in providing public conveniences in Bushy Park, Terenure, Dublin; if so, if he will state the reason; and how soon Dublin Corporation will provide such conveniences as the park is much frequented by numerous people daily, particularly in Summer.

It was the intention of the Corporation that the proposed new building which would include an additional sanitary convenience would be erected by direct labour by the Housing Maintenance Section of the Corporation but the direct labour force had to be diverted to work connected with dangerous buildings control. The Corporation have now decided to have the building erected by contract and the necessary contract documents are being prepared. I understand that it is hoped that work will be commenced before the end of the year.
