asked the Taoiseach the percentage increase in the consumer price index figure in the past twelve months, and in each calendar year since 1957.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the percentage change in the Consumer Price Index (base, August, 1947=100) between mid-May, 1963 and mid-May, 1964. The statement also includes the percentage changes between the index numbers for mid-February of each successive year since 1957.

Following is the statement:
