Vol. 211 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Control of Dublin Traffic.

20.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is in a position to indicate any proposals for the control of traffic in Dublin city centre after 7 p.m. on week days and on Sundays.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of 4th June to his previous question on this matter.

The Garda do not consider that the density of traffic requires the presence of men on point duty at times other than those currently provided for, save on the occasion of special events that are likely to attract large crowds. The growth in the volume of traffic may, of course, lead to a modification of this view and the matter is being kept under review.
