Vol. 211 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Corrib-Mask Survey.

10.

Mr. Donnellan

asked the Minister for Finance if the survey of the Corrib-Mask has been completed, the total acreage of arable land and bog that will be relieved from flooding; the estimated cost of the scheme; and when he expects work to commence.

The engineering survey of the Corrib-Mask catchment area was completed in 1963. The survey data are being plotted and the design of a suitable drainage scheme is being investigated. The valuation survey is now being made. It is not yet possible to say what areas of land and bog will be improved, what the scheme will cost or when works can commence.
