asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each of the years 1962-63 and 1963-64 (a) the names of all local authorities who received grants for the improvement of roads affected by railway closings, (b) the amount paid to each local authority for this purpose, (c) the total amount allotted to all local authorities in grants for the improvement of roads affected by railway closings, and (d) the amount of each grant for the improvement of roads serving certain major undertakings.

The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report.

asked the Minister for Local Government what grants will be provided for main and other roads in County Dublin, including Dún Laoghaire, this year; and if he will name the roads, and the amount concerned in each case.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the information requested by the Deputy.

Following is the statement:—

Dublin County Council:

(1) Main Road Improvement Grant allocation of £98,700, which the Council propose to apply to the following roads:—

(3) Arterial Road Grant: Amount of the allocation to be made will depend on the extent of the commitments on works to be entered into during the year.

Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation:

(1) Improvement Grant allocation of £62,250 for main roads—not yet appropriated to specific works.

(2) Upkeep Grant allocation of £14,453, which the Borough Corporation propose to apply to the following works:—
