Vol. 211 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Council of Europe Budget.

9.

asked the Minister for External Affairs what is the attitude of the Government with regard to Opinion No. 41 on the Budget of the Council of Europe for 1965, which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 23rd April, 1964; and whether the Government will support it, in particular with regard to the administrative strengthening of the Office of the Clerk of the Assembly and the institution of a pensions scheme for members of the staff.

Opinion No. 41 on the Budget of the Council of Europe for 1965 was given preliminary consideration by the Ministers' Deputies at their 132nd meeting early in June. Until the opinion of the Budget Committee is obtained the Deputies will not be able to give the matter final consideration and accordingly it is not possible to indicate at this stage what the attitude of the Government will be.
