Vol. 212 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Turbary.

38.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Land Commission have received a petition from a Pettigo, County Donegal, group for the development and distribution of bog in the townland of Croaghadrin (near Pettigo); and, if so, if he will request the Land Commission to expedite the matter and allocate turbary before next spring.

Recent representations for development and division of turbary in the district referred to are under investigation by the Land Commission. Pending completion of these inquiries, I am unable to forecast the outcome.

Would the Minister endeavour to expedite his inquiries to enable the allocation to be made before the next turf-cutting season begins in the spring?

My information is that the matter was raised with the Land Commission on 13th October last and that, as a result, the matter is under consideration. It is being investigated and reported on. I shall endeavour to have the matter expedited.
