I have ascertained that a vacancy for an auxiliary postman at Castlemaine was notified in the normal way to the local office of my Department by the Post Office authorities on the 23rd September, 1964. The name of the only person registered there who met the Post Office requirements was submitted. No special instructions were issued by my Department in regard to the vacancy.
