Vol. 212 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Licensing Hours.

39.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the dissatisfaction of a large section of the community with the present unnecessarily long licensing hours in the Dublin area particularly on Sundays; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter.

I am not so aware. The Deputy will, I assume, accept that no set of licensing hours would satisfy everybody. I have no reason to think that any alternative to the present hours would be an improvement, or would be likely to be more acceptable to the majority of the members of the Oireachtas or of the general public.
