Vol. 212 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sewerage Pipes.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if hydrodare or similar piping may be used instead of cast iron as a soil and vent pipe in order to qualify for a private house sewerage installation grant; and, if not, why such a piping is considered unsuitable for such a function.

The type of piping referred to by the Deputy is a low-density polythene tubing which, because of its flexible nature, is not suitable for use as a soil and vent pipe. Approved high density PVC piping is, however, accepted for grant purposes for soil and vent pipes.
