Vol. 212 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Cement-Mixing Plant.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that it is proposed to establish a cement-mixing plant at South Lotts Road, Dublin; if he has considered the dangers to the health of local inhabitants involved in the establishment of such a plant; and, if so, if he will ask the health authority to recommend the discontinuance of the project on this site.

I understand that Dublin Corporation are investigating complaints received in connection with the establishment of a ready-mix concrete plant at South Lotts Road.

Can the Minister tell me if an appeal lies to him from any decision of the Corporation?

The history of this seems to be that permission was given away back on 30th June last and no appeal was made. There is, therefore, within the law, no appeal to me. The Corporation are apparently examining the situation afresh.
