Vol. 212 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Land Reclamation.

32.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether surveys were carried out for land reclamation at Kilgeany, Poulavanogue, and at the Spa, Clonmel, County Tipperary; if so, at what date such surveys were carried out; and at what date work on reclamation will begin.

I presume the question refers to a joint works scheme on a stream in the townlands of Spa and Croan. Survey work on this stream was carried out in November and December, 1962. A contractor employed by the representative of the joint applicants commenced work in August, 1963, but he was stopped by one of the riparian owners concerned. A modified scheme was issued by my Department on 13th March, 1964. Arrangements for the re-commencement of the work are a matter for the representative of the joint applicants.
