Vol. 212 No. 6

Written Answers. - Agricultural Insurance Stamps.

37.

asked the Taoiseach if he will give revised particulars regarding the sale of agricultural insurance stamps for 1961, 1962 and 1963 in supplementation of the table on page 18 of Economic Statistics, 1963, Pr. 7050.

The average numbers of males in insurable agricultural employment as derived from sales of social insurance stamps, in continuation of the figures given on page 18 of Economic Statistics issued prior to the Budget, 1963 are as follows :—

Twelve months ended

Average Number

31 March, 1963

50,400

31 December, 1963

49,400

31 March, 1964

47,800

These figures are subject to the qualifications stated on pages 21 and 22 of Economic Statistics, Budget, 1964. It is not possible to distinguish sales of insurance stamps in respect of females engaged in agriculture as the appropriate contribution rate also applies to other social insurance contributions.

There has been no revision of the figures set out on the table on page 18 of Economic Statistics issued prior to the Budget, 1963.
